A key finding of The Ormax OTT Audience Report: 2026 is the huge growth in the audience base of K-dramas in India. Here are 10 key data points from the report, related to the rise of K-dramas in India, based on the report, and on Ormax StreamView's weekly tracking of what India watches on OTT.
1. 107.8 million viewers of K-Dramas in India at least once a month.
2. The audience base of K-Dramas in India has grown by 48%, from 2025 (72.9 million) to 2026 (107.8 million).
3. 23% female OTT audiences in India watch K-Dramas, compared to only 11% male OTT audiences.
4. As a result, despite OTT being a male-skewed category, 60% K-Dramas viewers in India are women, which is a higher share than any other content format.
5. 45% K-Drama viewers in India are also CTV viewers.
6. 58% K-Drama viewers in India are AVOD viewers, i.e., have no access to content available through paid subscriptions.
7. Squid Game is the most-watched K-Drama in India till date, with more than 20 million unique audiences across its three seasons.
8. In 2026 so far, eight K-Dramas, across Netflix, Amazon MX Player, Amazon Prime Video, and JioHotstar, have featured on Ormax StreamView’s Top 50 weekly charts of most-watched properties on OTT in India.
9. Teach You A Lesson and If Wishes Could Kill are the two most-watched K-Dramas of 2026 so far in India.
