Ormax Heartbeats (OHB) is our weekly popularity track for Hindi songs. It is India's only music charts report based on audience research. Since 2010, producers & music labels have used OHB to gauge audience response to new song launches. OHB reports the top songs of the week every Wednesday, based on two parameters: Recall and Likeability. For Recall, audiences are asked to name upto four songs that are currently on their mind, and for each of these, likeability is measured on a 0-100 scale. Recall and Likeability are combined to report a composite metric, called the OHB Score. OHB research is conducted among Hindi film audiences, and hence, is not reflective of the popularity of music in other Indian languages.

Based on Gross (cumulative) OHB Score across the year, we create year-end lists of top Hindi songs and soundtracks. For songs still not on the charts, their Gross OHB Score is estimated based on their trajectory in recent weeks, and comparison to similar songs in the past.

The graphic below lists the top 20 Hindi film songs of 2024, based on their Gross Ormax Heartbeats Score.

While three non-film songs feature on the Top 20 list, the Top 10 list comprises entirely of film songs, with songs from three soundtracks taking 7 of the top 10 positions. Not surprisingly, these soundtracks feature on the top 3 positions in the list of Top 10 soundtracks of 2024, which is based on the total Gross Ormax Heartbeats Score of all songs in the soundtrack added up.
